Moving.

Terrible customer service. The 3 guys who moved me did not speak english. It was extremely frustrating. When I complained to Gabriela C, I was called a racist. It took them 33 days to being my things from Alberta to Ontario. They demanded a certified cheque from TD bank only. TD is not my bank and would not give me one. I talked to a man at the company and he asked for half of the money as an etransfer the day before and the remainder in cash upon delivery. On the day they were supposed to deliver, I was informed it would be the next day, only after I called them wondering where they were. When I asked Gabriella why I was not notified, she said she just found out now herself. They were late delivering due to a flat tire. The only upside to this whole experience was the 2 men who unloaded the truck. They spoke English and were very nice. I have some items that are broken. Now I have to deal again with this company to get reimbursement. I would NEVER recommend this company!

Long-distance move from Calgary, AB to Guelph, ON

STOP, don't call this RealCanadaWideMoving.

STOP, STOP, STOP
If you want to make a contract with Real Canada Wide Moving Company, you better read my story and if you still want to choose this company because of the their cheap quote, then you need to see a psychiatrist. Go ahead and put yourself in trouble.
First of all, this company does not allow you to talk with a person in the claim department over phone, if the claim department exists at all. Done. I believe, this is enough reason to forget this company.
However, I assume you would like to know what happened to me, so I continue my story.
Chapter One: Quote, April 27th
I had to move in one week because of a family issue, so I did not have time read reviews and selected this company based on their good price and professional manner of its agent, later it turned out that I was wrong about both. The princess G, “her name starts with G”, is nice and kind before you pay the deposit. She does not provide you the detail of the moving process. Their policy is that, they don't tell you anything unless you ask.
I got the quote of approximately $2500 for a two bedroom apartment. I live with my wife and we are both students, so you can guess we didn't have too much stuff for moving. I asked for insurance, and the princess G told me that my stuff is covered, however she did not tell me that insurance pays $0.60 per pound. Basically, in their point of view your stuff worth as much as bananas or onions, if not less. She frequently used the term “ don’t worry, we are professional”, now I can tell it is the most false statement to describe this company.
Chapter Two: Packing May 1st
I got the packing service, because I did not want to have any trouble later with insurance, because they don’t take responsibility unless they do the packing. In the day of packing, two workers came to my apartment with crappy boxes. I think it was their first moving experience. I bet they never did their own moving. Short story, I ended up asking them to go and buy some boxes, for which the company charged me for premium packaging without telling me. They did not have special boxes for packing TV, clothes, picture frames and not enough paper for kitchen stuff. As I mentioned before, your stuff to their eyes looks like bananas and onions. So your $300 watch would worth 10 cent, if you got the steel band, and your 4k curved TV would worth $15, which is not enough to even recycle the broken one.
Chapter three: Delivery, July 5th
After having a terrible day, I went for a one month vacation. When I got to the destination, I called the princess G to set a delivery date. She told me they can not proceed unless I pay the full balance. When I got the bill, I was shocked. Nothing has ever surprised me with a bill like that, even crazy driving tickets. The total was approximately, $4500!! What the heck, I called princess G hoping that she can explain it to me. The only conclusion that I made from my call was that the proper name for princess G would be monster G. She told me that the weight of my stuff was over 4000 lbs, then I said why in the initial quote it was estimated 2500lbs. Her answer was hilarious, the Monster G said “ stuff gets some weights because Ontario is more humid than Alberta”. You can guess how angry I was when a stupid person like MONSTER G provided some scientific nonsense reasons to a person who hold PhD in mechanical engineering. I had no choice to pay the bill because without that I could not even set the delivery date and I needed my stuff ASAP.
I apologize if you got bored from the story, but bear with me as you got the interesting part of the story. The first available spot for delivery was 5 days later the date I called, and they suggested morning spot, which means anytime between 9:00am to noon. In the day of delivery, I started calling the delivery patch from 11:00am to get update about my delivery. The guy on the phone said truck is on its way, but it stocks in a bad traffic in highway 401. At 1:00pm I called again and asked for the driver cellphone, at that point they told me that the truck is broken and my delivery was postponed to the next day. Oh my god, I had to have this nightmare for another day.
Next day came, and the truck showed up at 1:30pm. I just wanted to get my stuff and finish this torturing game. The first scene that I was looking at when the driver opened the gate was a crushed coffee table. It was crushed so bad that I felt sorry for its owner, and I did not realize that poor owner is me. If you may think I am exaggerating here is the photo of my coffee table. If you want to see the photo of damaged stuff please send me an email and I provide you more photos. The driver said, “don’t worry the insurance would pay for all damages”.
Chapter Four: Claim Process, August 20th
I called the MONSTER G to get information about the claim process. They asked me to send photos of damaged stuff to an email and wait for 4 to 6 weeks. I did it, and no one even confirmed that they received my email. Thanks god, I persisted the MONSTER G to send me an email confirming that they received my email. After one week of follow-up I got the email. No update after 6 weeks. I called the MONSTER G and she transferred me to another Monster Lady, she said I need to send the email again and wait another 4 to 6 weeks. I requested to talk to a supervisor in claim department over the phone, and the Monster Lady said, they don’t have any phone in the claim department. I think when an office, a section, or a division is opened in a company, the first thing that is assigned to it is a phone number. I figured out that the claim department is just an email that no one would read it unless you call them several times. So if you are in this situation, first of all it is so unfortunate; second, don’t waste your time as no one give a __ to your emails.
At that point, I informed them that I am recording our conversations over the phone and anything they say might be used against them in court. After which, the MONSTER G and Monster Lady accepted to connect me to the manager, who was very impolite and rude. Short story, one week later, I got an email from the claim department. The total process of claim took about 40 days. Below is a part of the email I received from the claim department:
“The insurance Real Canada Wide Moving carries is a basic standard liability. This insurance pays out at 60 cents per pound, with a $350 deductible, to be paid by the customer.
(The item you claim weights 450 lbs x0.60 =$270.00
($270.00 -$350.00 (insurance deductible) = -$80.00
It is always important for us to leave satisfied customers behind us and we do really want to resolve this issue for you, Even though your case is not entitled to receive any refund; we will send you $300.00 ($350 deductable waive) = $300.00 cheque. “
The END

It was my responsibility to inform other customers about what might be waiting for them if they dial the phone number of this company. If you want to have a perfect terrible and disgusting memory from your moving the Real Canada Wide Moving is the best company to approach.
You see some 5 star reviews, which are fake and created by the company employees.
I want to clarify that I have not worked for any moving company and I have nothing to disclose. What I wrote was with my most honest and I am ready to present in court as a witness if it is required. If an employee, probably MONSTER G, from Real Canada Wide Moving commented on my review and called me a layer, please email me, and I will answer all your questions.
I noticed that they answered my review on the Homestars.com website, and instead of explaining their terrible service they accused me for being racist. OK, I am not going to discuss about their wrong statement because it is not the subject of my review. I wish they could explain their terrible service.
Good luck in your moving and don’t even think about the Real Canada Wide Moving (cheating) Company.

Move with Real Canada Wide Moving Services.

Overall price of whole move: $4851.11.  We packed and wrapped everything ourselves. Pickup and delivery was on the same day, moving distance was about 200km. I accepted them upon the fact that they were the cheapest quote and claimed to have "no hidden costs". Upon delivery I had to sign off and pay before they unloaded, there were two amounts that the person could not explain to me, a fee of $650 and one of $850 for "origin" and "destination" area.. so much for no hidden costs.  His explanation for this was, fees added because my quote was too cheap!  What's the point in getting a quote? The person in charge of this move speaks a broken English and can not be understood and do not understand one's questions. By the time of delivery the two men unloading were so tired, they bumped a lot of furniture into the walls, causing damage to the walls.  I was told three men would do this move, only two were there. To top it off.  The truck was too small for all our belongings.  Forcing us to drive back the next weekend and load what couldn't fit.   Never did they ask me to complete a inventory in order to have an accurate idea of the size of the move. Moving with this company turned out to be a mistake.

Hidden fees Incompetence.

So much for "no hidden fees": I was charged $100 for being on the second floor of an apartment, and there was a random $280 charge which, after literally 26 emails back and forth with Gabriela, whom I believe to be illiterate since she did not seem to understand my emails, I was able to have them "waive the charge" of $280. When they were loading everything, they have numeric codes for the conditions of the items. They wrote that my couches were torn (my couches are less than 2 years old and have no tears) and that a few metal pieces of furniture were bent. None of that was true, and I pointed this out and they changed some (but not all) of the descriptions. Basically, if they write that your stuff is already damaged, then when they damage it (which they will), you can't complain because you signed a form saying it was already damaged. I was never told how much my stuff weighed, which seemed super sketchy. This was the most stressful part of my move, and the whole point of hiring movers is to remove that stress.

The Worst Moving Company Ever.

Complete moving Horror Story !  ..Movers came 10 hrs late for the pickup no call or email to say they could not make it. When I Called to complain I was yelled at and Threatned by the Manager. Delivery was Set for next day, actually tuned out to be 5 days later. They Kept  on with a fake story of the Broken down truck. When the Stuff came most of the furniture was broken or scratched. This company made me and my famliy sleep on the floor for 4 nites.  DONT USE THIS COMPANY .

Smooth move.

I just moved with them a couple of weeks and I had a good experience. On time nothing was missing, even delivered my items to the rooms that I wanted it to be. I didn't have to lift a finger. Awesome.. I had to go with them cause even if some reviews aren't so good, they have been around and I know for sure that they wouldn't steal or rip me off. Like I heard about other moving companies.

Very satisfactory.

I have a province wide move with them, from vancouver to edmonton and I recieved it early (good condition and all). Was only 120 pounds over the estimated quote. The price was very fair compared to the other place I went to and the last time I moved I had a real bad experience with another company, the ones I hired from toronto. This time with real canada wide moving it was a better experience than the last company in toronto. Nothing was stolen or broken but I had them pack my tv for me. I normally don't write reviews but I was given 5% off the final bill. That was good and nice of those people, I was really worried that I will have another nightmare in my hands.

Horrible pickup, damaged goods upon delivery.

This has been the worst experience of my life. From the day they picked up my goods to delivery I have received nothing but horrible service, unprofessional service and now damaged goods. The day of my pick up (April 8) I was told they would arrive b/w 9-1. At 10 I was told the driver was on the way and by 1:30 no one arrived. I called where I was told by the owner that he would cancel my order for being a problem. He then said the driver would be there at 8 pm (which was not during business hours like I was told). Then the drivers showed up, did not have enough materials for my goods and actually asked if I just booked that day (even though I booked March 15). I was originally told it would take 3-5 business days for my stuff to go from Winnipeg to London (even though the site says 10-12 days but was told that was for an across Canada move). On April 15th my stuff had still not arrived. I was told it was in Thunder Bay that day. I called back on the 16th and was told it was STILL in Thunder Bay but may be delivered on the Friday. Friday I was told that it would not be arriving until Monday April 20. On Monday April 20th I was told that while my stuff was in Toronto, I would not be getting it delivered until Friday, April 24th. My stuff finally arrived and I was charged extra fees, and even worse my stuff was damaged. My marble table is chipped, wall art is broken, the boxes marked fragile are battered and I was given random pots and pans that were not mine. This company is NOT BBC accredited and warn ANYONE who tries to use them for booking not to. Just because they say Canada Wide in their name does not mean that they can deliver to any sort of standard across Canada.  .

Horrible Experience.

They did not come on the scheduled day. They did not inform us of any extra cost even when we asked straight out about certain things (ie treadmill, rural areas) Damaged over $1000 worth of items and did not even have the respect to apologize. They are unreliable, horrible customer service and will find any loop hole to NOT help you. I really wish I could say it was great, we had high hopes but they totally ripped us off and we have a little less faith in Canadian companies if they are representing Canada with their name.

Long-distance move from Ontario to Alberta

Absolutely the worst moving company there is.

I contacted Real Canada Wide Movers (RCWM)to move my contents in storage from London, ON to Edmonton, AB. Made the arrangements with the office here in Edmonton to pick up the contents in storage, my Husband drove to be there on the requested date for 3 hours and they did not show up on the Saturday scheduled for the pick up. My Husband waited there ALL DAY, we tried to reach RCWM no answer! They did not give any notice of any kind that they would not be able to keep the appointment. Then without our knowledge they showed up on Sunday and tried to move out the contents of the Storage Unit but Uhaul would not let them. We got a hold of RCWM on the Monday, they lied saying that the furniture was all packed up and on its way to Edmonton, which it was not as verified by Uhaul Storage. A seperate mid week appointment had to be made again! The boxes that were moved out of the storage unit were in pristine shape, we bought all brand new boxes so that the boxes would be strong to lessen breakage. When the delivery arrived, they would not unload anything until the entire bill was paid which ended up being over double the price quoted. The two young bucks they hired to unload the van did not even know each others name! One could not even speak English! They tell you that they accept Credit Card payments but don't tell you that you have to pay an additional 3% to be able to use it!! ANY moving company has mats to put down on the floor to protect from any damage from moving in, they did not have ANYTHING and would not allow me to put anything down on the floor they said so their movers would not fall. The Movers would not remove their shoes so dirt and mud would not be brought into my home, they did not even have other shoes to put on or protective foot wear. Needless to say they trampled mud on to my brand new carpets. I had to yell and scream at these guys to stop - it was the worst move ever, I know ALOT of people and I will NEVER recommend this Company. And as previously stated by others they will look for any loop hole they can to not pay anything back to you for the damages they cause. Oh yes, the boxes, remember I said we bought brand new ones for packing - EVERY SINGLE ONE was crushed or ripped open at the sides, my fine china was all broken, all my crystal as well. Everything was packed in foam to prevent breakage! The over $4,000 I paid for the move could have been better spent buying all new things. Don't make the same mistake I did, do your research, read the reviews and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Good but Bad.

The movers were awesome at first, I talked to them about cost and any hidden fees and they told me about all of it. I had them show up on time in Alberta and packed my stuff into the truck with stickers on each box/tote, and iteamized it all on their sheets. They called me with a delivery date and delivered my stuff. I had many broken items and also I'm MISSING 8 boxes they have not delivered to me. I contacted them and they are now "searching" their wearhouses. I still have not heard back from them in a week so I wrote and called and they said they are still "searching". Guess we will see what they are going to do for me if they can't find my stuff, which is all important to me!!

Long-distance move from Edmonton, AB to Kingston, ON

Good at first, bad at the end.

First let me add my ID as not to get a reply that I am not a Customer. Client ID 7259. Move from Edmonton AB to Kingston ON, June 28 2017. Here is why I am giving you two stars only and will not use your service again, happy beginning, not a good ending.
Here are some advices to other customers:
- Number all your boxes yourself, write your full name and phone number if you have to, the sticking numbers they use get all messed up when received, you may receive other customers packages.
- Either get the extra insurance and pay more or don't go with them as there is a big chance they will lose your stuff, seems they have a mis-coordinated storage facility.
- When contacting the customer service, call again the next day to make sure your request has been entered into the system, lot get missed.
- Request a re-weighting if you feel something is odd with the number they gave you.
- Make sure you solve all the problems BEFORE paying them.
- Make sure they provide you with an invoice once payment is done.

Now for the rating:
1- One star for picking the items on time, although subcontracted, but good team.
2- One star for dealing with Gabriella on the phone, good customer service.
3- Zero star for storage - Asked for 7 weeks storage as I work on a 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off in Nunavut. Got laid off from work at week # 4, called before the 5th week is over and asked to change the delivery date as I am back home for good, checked after 6 days and the info wasn't entered in the system, they made me pay more for the extra 6 days of storage, provided all the back-up to prove that we discussed this issue, still I had to pay the extra, being laid off with no money didn't even soften their hearts. Lesson learned: Do not talk to any male who answers the phone and send an email as to have a written proof to force their hand.
4- One star for good delivery speed once the payment was done.
5- Zero star for the time of delivery, expected at noon, delivered at 8pm.
6- Minus one star for losing 6 of our package including a very expensive mountain board and pair of skis, although my full name, my cell number and "Kingston ON" is written on each of our packages.
7- One star for Tony (From claim department) for going beyond the contract and waiving the deductible $350 insurance and giving me back a little refund although I have chosen the 60cent insurance coverage only, that refund covered only the skis, they had all the legal right not to pay me anything the same way I had the right to expect all my goods to be delivered..
8 - Minus one star for Tony for inventing excuses as not to return the extra storage payment then not responding to the provided facts.
9 - Minus one star for not providing an invoice to date, although requested on many occasions.
10- Minus one star for hiding the extra paid storage fees and putting only the basic amount on the moving contract - Evading tax?
11 - Minus one star for not answering my emails and making up excuses as to evade paying.

As I have been following this matter for the past 4 months and got nowhere with them, my next step is to contact the CRA to check on the invoice issue.

Long-distance move from Edmonton, AB to Vancouver, BC

Worst moving experience of my life.

I would strongly urge those looking for movers to pass by this one. I have moved a grande total of 8 times throughout Canada, and hands down this has been the worst experience I've ever had moving. Not only were the office staff incredibly rude; but they consistently fell short in honesty, transparency, and common courtesy.

The pick up went wonderfully. And it was all downhill from there..

I was told 6 separate delivery days/times. Given excuses such as it was "my fault" for having poor availability (I was free for a 10 day window where the delivery should have taken place), the truck broke down, poor driving conditions, road too narrow to deliver on, etc. Which one was true? Who knows, anyone who told me they would return my call never did.. So when I called them back I was told such gems as "I'm not a magical fairy that can just make your stuff appear whenever you want it".. Aside from her condescending tone & use of language, isn't that why I am paying you?

Once I received confirmation that my delivery was in the province, I then had the pleasure of being bullied and belittled by their driver who threatened to drop my stuff off at a "warehouse" for my husband and I to "figure it out". He proceeded to tell me "I'm done talking to you", and hung up on me.

Real canada wide services, I love your service.

My name is Elizabeth, I live in Victoria Bc. I asked my mom who lives in Ledbridge Alberta to move in BC with us. I got an excellent quote from Real Canada Wide Moving Services, with an extra 5% Senior discount. Because my mother is a senior we got a full packing package which was done very professionally. Nothing was damage or lost , I am glad we listened to our friends recommendation. I was told in the beginning that they don't allow jewellery, real plants and also any liquid chemicals. I was also told how long it would take for my shipment to arrive and also I was also given advice about the insurance. I recommend this excellent and very reasonable service to everyone.

Damage and missing property.

Not only do I have damage to my property I'm missing several items including my jewellery box, all software for both my computers, a printer/scanner for my computer, my winter coat and other clothing. All my government papers, tax returns for seven years, medical receipts, credit card statement and payment. passwords for banking info, Revnue Canada documents are just to name a few items. I've had to cancel all credit cards and cheques and have not been able to work because they have the software that I need for my computer. There were also several boxes that were opened and re-taped which tells me that this possibly is not just a moving mishap.  I was thinking this was an isolated incident until I went back to read other reviews only to find out that several people are going through the same thing and they have received items that weren't theirs. They also can't get a reply from the company or find their property. I now believe that the three reviews that were previously posted about this company before I booked my move were likely fake as there are too many negative ones now.  If anyone reads this and they are going through the same issue with this company, please contact me at devilishlynilla@yahoo.com as I plan to take legal action and you likely should too.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Protect yourself and your belongings!

Please do yourself a favour and do not use this company. Not only do I have damage to furniture, I'm missing my jewellery box and contents, all my personal documents which include cheques, past paid bills, income tax receipts, warranties for electronic devises, credit card info, a printer/scanner, all software for both my computers. They make you pay before they bring your items into the house and they left damaged items on the truck until the end even though I requested they be brought in at the beginning as they were at the front of the truck. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I was told I would have my belongs in seven days but it took 16 days. They have yet to return my missing items and although they told me that they contacted other people who they delivered to, I've spoken with other customers and they were never contacted about my property. Neither was I contacted about their property missing. The company refuses to talk to you over the phone to rectify the situation or at least help you find your property. I've now had to call numerous government offices and financial institutes to cancel everything in my name and have it all reissued. I don't think the previous reviews were authentic because too many people are complaining now. If you have had a similar experience with this company (Real Canada Wide Moving Services, please contact me at devilishlynilla@yahoo.com Thanks

Update: I've now had contact with several others customers who have dealt with this company and they are going through the same issues. Of note, it's very interesting to see that one particular 'positive' review on another site was actually made by the owner, Eric Levy, himself.

Lost Item.

Made the mistake of booking with this company. Unfortunately I did not do my research or check for previous complaints with BBB. They failed to deliver a mattress that they picked up during a move and were not able to locate it for over six weeks. They tried to get us to accept someone Else's used mattress to substitute and thought that was reasonable. After 6 weeks of chasing phone calls, emails and not getting our mattress we had to buy a new one. They have refused to acknowledge their responsibility and to date will not provide compensation. Interesting, they seem to have a wide array of mattresses to choose from, so their failure to deliver appears to be a problem not confined to my experience. I found dealing with them to be frustrating, and they could care less about their responsibilities toward customers especially once they have your money. If you value your belongings, do not deal with this company. Do your research when looking for a reliable mover and don't repeat my mistake!

Long-distance move from Alberta to Ontario

Moving across provinces.

If you value your belongings, do NOT hire this company to help you with your move. The only pleasant experience I had was the actual pick-up and delivery, which was done by workers hired from a different moving company. They were professional, careful and efficient. The opposite is true when you actually have to deal with staff from the Real Canada Wide Moving Company itself. I scheduled my delivery a day earlier than planned about a week in advance, which was simply forgotten and could not be retrieved from any computer entries. The quote I got from a Real Canada Wide Moving estimator was likewise not accessible to the pick-up crew, but we resolved the issue. My shipment went from Alberta to Ontario and was going to take 10-12 business days (which was ok with me). Unfortunately, they never cared to inform me that the shipment was delayed, until I phoned a few days before scheduled delivery to inquire about the time window of delivery. They claimed to have a mechanical problem with the truck (which, if you read small print, means they can be as delayed as they want and the customer cannot claim any re-imbursements). They could not even estimate the day that it would be delivered. If you move across provinces into a new home in a town where you no nobody, every day without kitchen equipment counts! Not to speak of clothing etc. The delivery was finally  scheduled by a company local to my new hometown, and I got their phone call at a time when Real Canada Wide Moving Company was still at a loss as to when my shipment would be delivered (which turned out was 4 days later than planned). The delivery crew was as professional as the pick-up crew, yet as I was not told the total balance in advance and had to pay the truck driver before they would unload, I had to use my credit card. The Real Canada Wide Moving Company charged me an additional 106$ (a percentage of the full moving cost) for credit card use, which not avoidable under the circumstances. I have been in contact with them ever since (over 2 months ago) about the delay in delivery and the unexpected charge for credit card use. They confirmed they received my ‘claim’, but have not had time to process it. The latest I heard, the manager was on vacation. The service and organization within this company is a disaster. Do yourself a favor and go with more professional movers, I don’t know what would have happened if some of my belongings got lost or heavily damaged, but I predict handling such things with the company would turn into an absolute nightmare.  .

Long-distance move from Alberta to British Columbia

Damaged furniture.

Please avoid using this company by all means!  They charged a lot of money for a very few furniture and all my furniture was broken and damaged.  They didn't want to take responsibility at all.  Gabriela O'cay was very rude to me.  They said that my furniture was broken already but I have proof of purchase (almost brand new furniture).  Lots of hidden costs and the list goes on.  Please avoid yourself many troubles and pass the voice around!! :(.

Local move within Alberta

Moving Company.

We had the misfortune to select this company to move in Alberta. The contract included storage for a few days. When the delivery was made at least 75% of what they wraped using blankets was damaged. Their claim procedure is a joke. They have no interest in settling claims, they simple offer a token amount to have the customer go away. They are unprofessional and unresponsive in their approach. Do yourselve a favor, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Long-distance move from British Columbia to Alberta

Worst Moving Experience Ever.

Contracted this company to move my family from Vancouver Island to Central Alberta.  Charged me more than twice what they quoted, Many of my belongings were broken, and many more missing.  Water damage and mice living in my boxes.  Tried to negotiate a more realistic price with them, got told if I wanted a better price, I would not be able to claim for damages.   DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
